This is my visual diary for a Contemporary Art course which I am taking for my Fall 2011 schedule. It will be used to show my assignments as well as my analysis of the pieces and how I choose to arrage them.

I am an artist, a photographer, and an aspiring architect. Expect images related to those three topics :)

Abstraction shows how one persons mind works. To me, the actual representation of abstract works shows a great deal of control on the skill of the artist. Personally, I cannot draw from my imagination without it looking like a baby spit up, so to see someone who can draw things that aren’t even real opens my eyes to how they see the  world.

A sort of Picasso-style self-portrait I drew, which I then photographed, and played around with in Photoshop.

Mimicry has been known by many as a way of compliment and in these images I agree. The Artist of the mimicked image shows a great idea of the original artwork, so much that they chose to represent it, again, in their own work.

Family has always been a topic that is very sensitive to people. Even the “hardcore” individuals still put up guards when others attack their family. One thing that has been expanded from family is the meaning of friendship, where girls who aren’t related call themselves sisters and boys who aren’t related call themselves brothers. Family means a lot to everyone, some just don’t know how to express it.
